I.                    Greeting/Opening Meeting

a.       Meeting was moderated by Carol Saker. 

b.      The meeting began at 2:14 pm.

II.                 New Member Introductions

a.       Jodi Price brought “Mark” as a guest.

III.               Old Business

a.       September Meeting Minutes

                                                               i.      Laurie Nessel and Cynthia Shelton submitted modifications to the meeting minutes of 9/19/04.

b.      Glass Expressions

                                                               i.      Jean McDonald has 2 tables she is storing for AZSGB use at the show.

                                                             ii.      Maria Carrillo has 5 tables if they are needed.

                                                            iii.      MAC has 10 tables and chairs.

                                                           iv.      Lynn Gustafson reported that she had committed donations from Heather Trimlett, Leah Fairbanks, Sharon Peters and Kate Fowle-Meleny.  More donations are pending.

                                                             v.      Laurie Nessel reported that she had sent out emails to various persons for monetary donations to the event.

                                                           vi.      Laurie Nessel requested volunteers to monitor the raffle table and demonstration tables.  A sign-up sheet was distributed to the members.

c.       Update on BBS II.

                                                               i.      There were no updates to BBS II.

d.      T-Shirts

                                                               i.      Laurie Nessel reported that the dragon design for the T-shirt was copyright by Harvey Carlton.  The current image idea was dropped for this reason.  The T-shirt project remains an open item.

e.       Email Verification

                                                               i.      Judi Binderman sent out a hardcopy list so attending members could verify their emails at the meeting.

f.        Beads as a Business

                                                               i.      Maria Carrillo did not contact Don Merrifield to discuss a presentation at this time.

g.       Laurie Nessel reported a new phone number for the oxygen supplier, Valley Gas and Gear.  The new phone number is (623) 931-2775.  Harvey Carlton reported that John Vancini is giving discounts for O2 for lampworkers.

h.       Jean Donaldson reported that there is still a need for purple hearts and butterflies for Beads of Courage.

i.         Ten individuals expressed interest in purchasing tablecloths.  In addition, the group will purchase 2 tableclothes for group use.  Cynthia will order 15 tableclothes.

IV.              New Business

a.       Visiting Artists

                                                               i.      Laurie Nessel and Juanita Dunn reported that Michael Barley charges $900.00/day for teaching.  Judi Binderman is looking into other artists.

                                                             ii.      Tracy Baginski motioned that the group form a budgeting committee so that the groups funds could be allocated to various activities.  Jean McDonald seconded the motion.

b.      Carol Saker requested used printer cartridges for the Bead Museum.  For each used cartridge, the museum gets a free ream of paper.

c.       Michelle Colletti started a petition to present to MAC for a beginning boro class.

d.      Judi Binderman reported that links from the AZSGB website to members websites were ready to be incorporated.  Price for links is $6.00 for a word link and $12.00 for a banner link.

V.                 Treasurer’s Report

a.       Juanita Dunn reported that the group has $3623.06 in funds at the time of the meeting. 

VI.              The November meeting will be held at Jean McDonald’s house on November 21, 2004 at 2:00pm.

VII.            Tracy Baginski will coordinate the Bead Exchange for November to help Lynn Gustafson.  The stretch exchange shall be held in January.

VIII.         The meeting was adjourned at 3:40pm.

IX.              Lynn Gustafson gave a demo on a Hollow Vessel Bead.

Cynthia Shelton Bead gave a demo on Christmas Candy.  She also presented handouts on the technique.
