Beads of Courage

ASGB has been involved with the Beads of Courage program, initially underway in Tucson.

A plea was made to the group to continue to provide purple hearts for the children completing therapy.  At the inception of this program 150 purples hearts are needed every 6 months.  Additionally, the program has requested butterfly beads as well, used to complete the necklaces for parents whose child has passed away.

 The rules for making beads:

Beads should be brought to the next meeting. Naturally, any done after that time would be welcome, but many are needed soon.

Beads ready before the next meeting can be dropped off. Please contact Carol Saker.

Beads should be made on 1/8" mandrels...hearts should have horizontal holes, or if you've made a vertical hole, please convert it to a pendant with some basic wirework.

Here are some of the latest Beads of Courage, donated by Jerrell Skirboll. We can always use some more hearts too!

At the Patti Walton/John Olson workshop, beads made by the artists were donated to help raise money for Beads of Courage.  The masterpieces will be auctioned on Ebay at a later date.
